Roadrunners drop home finale 10-3 to Compton
WHITTIER — The Rio Hondo College softball team fell 10-3 to Compton College on Wednesday in a South Coast Conference game at home.
The Roadrunners scored twice in the bottom of the first when Natalie Sosa doubled home Tatyana Caudillo-Wilson and Julissa Flores to go up 2-0.
Compton erased that lead in the third, scoring five runs on three hits and a pair of errors to take a 5-2 advantage. Compton added three more in the fourth to push the lead to 8-2.
Rio Hondo cut the deficit to 8-3 in the fifth on an unearned run scored by Mia Godinez thanks to a Compton error.
Delilah Perez pitched all seven innings for the Roadrunners, allowing 10 runs (six earned) on 10 hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Sosa went 1 for 3 with a double and two RBI to lead Rio Hondo at the plate. Caudillo-Wilson drew two walks and scored a run.
The Roadrunners fell to 2-33 overall and 0-20 in the SCC. Rio Hondo closes out the 2026 season on Tuesday (Apr. 21) when it travels to Los Angeles Harbor College for a 2 p.m. game.
