Despite not having played a game since late November, the honors continue to come in for the Rio Hondo College women’s soccer team. On Monday, Roadrunner head coach Jennifer Tanaka-Hoshijo was named the South Coast Conference Fall Women’s Coach of the Year by conference athletic directors.
It was another impressive season for the nationally-ranked Rio Hondo College women’s soccer program under the direction of head coach Jennifer Tanaka-Hoshijo. On Feb. 29, the team celebrated its many successes on and off the field at its annual awards banquet that was attended by over 120 individuals.
Members of Rio Hondo College’s South Coast Conference women’s soccer championship squad were rewarded after an impressive 8-0 run as the Roadrunners totaled 11 all-conference awards at the postseason coaches meeting.

The 2019 Rio Hondo College women’s soccer season began on Thursday with the Roadrunners earning a 1-1 draw against Hartnell College in the first day of action at the New Balance Community College Showcase at Ventura College.
